Climbing the LadderPassion for writing is no stranger to me. Since I was little I knew I wanted to write, and by write, I meant everything from novels to short stories to poetry. Once I got to high school I thought I had found my utopia, my place in the crowd. It was a little place called the Journalism room. But to get what I wanted I had to strive for it. I have been in Journalism since my freshman year. I could only imagine the way it would feel to be working on something that many other people would read when it was published. Let Freedom Ring?Freedom is something only most eighteen-year-old seniors dream about until college. Yet, as I look back on the last couple of weeks, I can honestly say that I have achieved that. When I get home at night, my home—the one that I share with my boyfriend—I can’t help but look around me at the chaotic, clothes-strewn floors and smile. Knowing that I’m becoming an adult makes me proud to be where I am now. No matter how much of a mess the dining room floor is, or how many dirty dishes are piled up in the sinks, I know when I get home, my boyfriend will come home and we will sit around and bask in each others company and that makes theLet Freedom Ring?
Breaking up is hard to doIt happens to everyone, whether you’re popular or not. High school years are well known for their fair share of drama and heartbreak. Everyone wants to believe it would never happen to him or her, that the person they “love” this week would be the “one.” But nine times out of ten, it ends up being a disaster—most commonly with this person cheating on that person with so-and-so. And, in the end, at least one person is going to be left miserable with heartache. I’ve been that person; you know the one, hopelessly lost because their companion left them. And, it wasn’t pretty. There was that two-week period of feeling dumbstruck and coBreaking up is hard to do
